What is a serviced apartment on BlueKeys?
A serviced apartment on BlueKeys is a furnished home you book by the night, run by a professional operator. BlueKeys works directly with established operators, and the same approach covers the chalets, villas and holiday homes on the site. Here is what that means in practice:
- Homes come from established operators BlueKeys works with directly.
- Each listing's photos, details and prices are reviewed before it is published.
- Calendars sync automatically with the operator's booking system.
- A real person confirms every booking request with the operator before you pay.
- Homes an operator stops offering are removed from the site.
How to choose the best serviced apartment in Egypt for your trip
There is no single best serviced apartment in Egypt; the right one depends on your trip. This checklist helps you compare homes on the details that matter:
- Location for your trip: stay close to where you will spend your days. In Cairo, driving between east and west can take well over an hour in traffic.
- Bedrooms: size drives price. In Cairo the median is EGP 4,000 a night for one bedroom and EGP 5,000 for two (September 2026).
- Minimum stay: it varies by home, commonly 2 to 7 nights, and is shown on each listing and in the date picker.
- Full price breakdown: check the nightly rate plus any cleaning fee, compound access card (North Coast only) and service fee of 0–15%. All fees are itemised on the listing before you confirm.
- Cancellation terms: they depend on the home and operator. The listing shows them; where it doesn't, the team sends the host's terms in writing on WhatsApp before you book.
- WhatsApp confirmation: a real person checks your dates with the operator and confirms on WhatsApp before any payment.
Where are serviced apartments in Egypt, and what do they cost?
| Destination | Median per night | Typical range | Homes on BlueKeys | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cairo | EGP 4,947 | EGP 3,978–6,579 | 453 | City stays, business trips and sightseeing, year-round |
| El Gouna | EGP 8,400 | EGP 5,950–12,000 | 84 | Red Sea lagoons, beaches and kite-surfing; most pleasant October to May |
| Alexandria | EGP 3,978 | EGP 3,315–4,335 | 11 | A Mediterranean city stay, mostly one-bedroom apartments |
| North Coast (holiday homes) | EGP 18,513 | EGP 13,923–28,203 | 504 | Summer beach holidays in chalets and villas |
How these prices were measured: published BlueKeys homes, nights from 17 September 2026 to 16 September 2027, homes with at least 30 priced nights, monthly-only homes excluded; operator nightly rate in EGP before cleaning, access and service fees. The typical range is the 25th to 75th percentile. North Coast operators publish next summer's rates in spring, so September figures don't include peak-season pricing yet.
Serviced apartments in Cairo
Cairo has the most serviced apartments on BlueKeys, across six areas: New Cairo (the largest choice, suited to business trips and families), Sheikh Zayed in the west, Zamalek on its Nile island, Downtown Cairo near Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Museum, Heliopolis near Cairo International Airport, and Giza & Pyramids. Area medians in September 2026 run from EGP 1,850 a night in Giza & Pyramids to EGP 6,630 in Zamalek. Cairo homes have no compound access card, and many have no service fee.
If you are looking for furnished apartments for rent in Cairo and aren't sure which side of the city suits you, the Cairo area guide compares all six.
El Gouna apartments on the Red Sea
El Gouna is a planned resort town on the Red Sea, north of Hurghada and about 30 minutes by car from Hurghada International Airport, with lagoons, beaches, Abu Tig Marina and kite-surfing at Mangroovy Beach. It is a year-round destination, pleasant from October to May and very hot in mid-summer. Of the 84 El Gouna apartments on BlueKeys, 50 are in Mangroovy Residence (median EGP 9,100 a night) and 8 in G-Cribs (median EGP 4,850), September 2026. There is no compound access card.
Alexandria
In Alexandria, BlueKeys homes are serviced apartments in the city centre and on the Corniche of this Mediterranean city. There are 11, mostly one-bedroom, with a median of EGP 3,978 a night (typical range EGP 3,315–4,335, September 2026) and no compound access card.
The North Coast: holiday homes for the summer
On the North Coast (Sahel), BlueKeys homes are mostly chalets and villas in resort compounds such as Marassi, Fouka Bay, Almaza Bay, New Alamein and Playa, with studio and one-bedroom sea-view apartments in the City Edge towers in New Alamein. Summer, roughly June to September, is the season, and July and August are the busiest and most expensive months. In the summer 2026 edition, Marassi's peak-season median was about 2.5 times its off-peak median.
Fees work differently here: many compounds add a compound access card, and a cleaning fee is usually charged once per stay. Almaza Bay homes have no access card and no cleaning fee. The North Coast price index and the compound comparison guide go into detail.
Short-term rentals in Egypt vs longer stays
Most homes on BlueKeys work as short-term rentals in Egypt, with minimum stays that vary by home, commonly 2 to 7 nights. A few homes, such as some New Cairo suites, are rented monthly only and are clearly marked. For a longer stay, you can ask the team on WhatsApp for recommendations before booking.
